The village of Ripatransone

The village of Ripatransone is situated on a hill 494 meters above sea level, 12 km from the Adriatic Sea and extends over an area of approximately 74 square km. It is called "Belvedere del Piceno" for the wide panoramic view it offers.

Ripatransone has – for several years now – been awarded the tourist quality mark for the environment “Bandiera arancione” (Orange flag) by the Italian Touring Club.

City of art that above all lives from tourism, with numerous museum buildings, the narrowest alley in Italy, the historic Luigi Mercantini theater, beautiful churches, the Amphitheater Delle Fonti and splendid squares such as Piazza XX Settembre, Piazza Donna Bianca de Tharolis and Piazza Ascanio Condivi.

An event not to be missed in Ripatransone is “Il Cavallo di Fuoco” (The Horse on Fire), a historical tribute that has been repeated every year since 1682, on the Sunday after Easter: it is a one-of-a-kind fireworks display.
